The pink thermoplastic gum material in our kits softens in hot water and firms again as it cools. This lets you adjust the shape instead of starting your project over.
This guide is for our heat-shapeable pink material. It does not tell you how to heat or reshape a traditional acrylic denture.
How to reheat and reshape
- Read your kit instructions first. Have your shaping tools and a bowl of cool water ready.
- Soften in hot water. Follow the heating directions supplied with your material. Thickness affects how quickly it softens.
- Lift out carefully. Use a spoon or suitable tool. Allow it to reach a safe handling temperature before touching or fitting it.
- Adjust a little at a time. For a full denture project, shape on your stone model. For a small adjustment, soften only the area you need to change where practical.
- Let it cool and firm. Check the shape once cool. Repeat according to your kit instructions if another adjustment is needed.
